MHA CURRICULUM

The MHA curriculum is designed to prepare generalist healthcare managers with multidisciplinary competencies. It incorporates management and organizational theory, an understanding of health care delivery, reimbursement and financing systems, and applied research to formulate, implement, and evaluate managerial decisions in health care settings.

Areas of focus in the curriculum include:

  • Management of integrated health systems,
  • Management information systems,
  • Health economics,
  • Accounting,
  • Financial management,
  • Organization behavior,
  • Strategic planning,
  • Quantitative data analysis,
  • Health law,
  • Epidemiology, and
  • Biostatistics

There is no difference in curriculum content or academic course expectations between the on-campus format students and MHA Professional Format students. What is different is that MHA Professional Format students can view their classes asynchronously via video stream without campus attendance during the semester. The course sequence can be viewed at MHACSequence.html
