If you have downloaded and installed from http://java.com, but you are still not seeing the message, try this:

  1. Start Microsoft Internet Explorer.
  2. Click the Tools menu item.
  3. Select Internet Options ...
  4. Click the Advanced tab
  5. Scroll down until you see the Java (Sun) coffee cup.
  6. Click to put a check mark next to Use Java 2 ... for <applet> ...
  7. You may be required to restart your computer.
