Admissions

For our regular MPH, MHA, and doctoral programs, apply online through the Association of Schools of Public Health's SOPHAS system. Please also send an e-mail with your contact information.

For the MHA Professional Format program, apply directly to our Department, not through SOPHAS.

For dual-degree programs (MSW-MPH, MN/MSN-MPH, and JD-MHA), apply online through the USC Graduate School. When you apply, please send an e-mail with your contact information.

Tuition and Fees: We advise applicants to review the tuition and fees carefully, as these have increased over the past 5 years. A key strength of our MHA program is that virtually all of our students work in a compensated graduate assistantship throughout the program. These graduate assistantships provide a small stipend usually ranging from $2,000 to $4,000 per semester, depending on the hours worked per week. They also benefit out-of-state students: students who have a graduate assistantship pay in-state tuition. We are working to increase funds available for scholarships. At present, there are no notable scholarship opportunities. All applicants should be aware that the graduate assistantship will cover only a portion of the tuition and fees. Applicants should plan financially accordingly, and also plan to finance their living costs during the program.

International applicants to Columbia campus programs: Please note it has become increasingly challenging to place international students in graduate assistantships. We assist all students the best we can; but we cannot place students before they enroll, or promise assistantships. At the same time, tuition and fees have increased substantially over the past 5 years. Thus, we strongly recommend that international students contact the Program Director before submitting an application through SOPHAS.
