 Individual Work 

Learning from a classmate is a great way to learn. Helping a classmate is an even better way to learn. If you ask someone for help, you are doing that someone a favor. If you help a friend, you help yourself, too.

Help is OK. Working as a group is not. For this assignment, each of you must have your own data set. Draw your own graph. For all assignments, your hands must be on the keyboard. What you send in must be something that you created. This course's assignments are not group projects.

Instructions for copying and pasting the data into your spreadsheet: (If these instructions don't work, write the data down. Then type the data into your spreadsheet as described in the Assignment 1 pdf instructions.)

  1. Select all the data by
    1. right-clicking in the box and choosing Select All, or
    2. clicking in the box and pressing Ctrl+a , or
    3. clicking in the upper left corner and dragging with the mouse to cover all the data
  2. press Ctrl+C,
  3. start up your spreadsheet,
  4. move the cell selector to where you want the "X" to go (cell B1 of a blank spreadsheet, if you are following the Assignment 1 instructions), and
  5. paste the data into your spreadsheet (Ctrl+V should work).
  6. Stop further work on your spreadsheet until after you have drawn the graph. The Assignment 1 pdf has a graph paper page. For something better, do a Google search for graph paper, or try Print Free Graph Paper or Mathematics Help Central.

Please your eyeball line's intercept and slope, and your least squares line's intercept and slope, for assignment 1.
